The compact ICM motor is directly attached to a wire feeding unit that feeds steel wire to an in-line stitching machine. The in-line stitcher is mounted in the folder part of a printing press.
The staples are placed in newspapers or commercials at full production speed. The wire feeding start and stop 40 times per second in the fastest machines.
Extreme Dynamic Characteristics
The compact design of the ICM servo motor and the extreme dynamic characteristics of HDD’s motors were crucial when choosing HDD’s servo motor for this application. So were the high quality of the servo motors as the requirements of reliability is extreme.
